No Gravity Enduro Series for 2016
After five years of the UKGE I have to announce there will be no sixth year in 2016. The series started off slowly and built up to something massive. It took over my life, morning, noon and night. At the start of 2015, I became homeless with our first born expected in April, this was what can only be described as troubling times for Liz and myself. This is in no way an excuse for my handling of the PR associated with UKGE, it is the hard facts, I am putting my hands up to making a complete mess of the situation. Maybe in the near future people will look back and think it was visionary, only time will tell.
All through my years of organising events, it has always been my goal to put rider’s wishes first, if they ever said I had done a bad job, I would have stopped. At heart, I am a racer, always have been and always will be. It is what we live for – great racing! The UKGE team has brought you amazing races across the country and put enduro in the UK at the forefront of every Mountain Biker”s thoughts. So, thank you to all who have made the five years amazing, and so much fun as well.
I am going to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to all the sponsors that have supported the series: the Forestry Commission, for letting us host the races, and to the happy faces we see at so many races. Charlie Williams, for his outstanding contribution to the series – he has bought all his years of racing in Europe into developing the stages. Last but not least, anyone who has helped prepare stages over the past five years, especially the “Trail pixies;” Dominic Pearce, Ed Wright and Richard Marsden. Next year sees me hitting the big Five 0, so it is time for me to go racing and spend some quality time with Liz and our beautiful baby girl, Imogen. The UKGE team will be doing possibly two events in 2016, one of these will be a week long bike festival, the other remains a close guarded secret! Get yourself along to round five at Dyfi and say goodbye to the original and still the best series for Gravity Enduro in the UK. – Steve Parr
Hi Steve and your team(Liz and baby Imogen).
We just wanted to say that we have throughly enjoyed attending the UKGE over the past four years.supporting our grandson James.
We have seen James gain in confidence and all the other young riders ( and old riders) you have done good ,don’t have any doubts.
We will not be at the last meeting we would like to take this opportunity to say Very Best Wishes for the future and we feel sure we that we shall see you and the team again some time next year.
Well done all it has been great to see how the numbers have increased in the under eighteens and how they have matured and moved on into the adult sections.
We feel sure that this must have given you and Liz a great deal of pride and pleasure seeing this achievement in bringing so many young folks into the sport.

Did my first race at hammers in 2012 and realised how over inflated my own sense of ability on a bike was…and loved it! I then did everything I could to get to the races since. Thanks for putting on such an epic beast of a race series, you’ve inspired riders such as myself to push to our limits, explore more trails and importantly have fun. Thanks also for supporting the army team – we’ve had a proper laugh since getting together to have a go at the series for the last two years. Gutted it’s over… But all the best!
Sad to see you go Steve, been a pleasure working with you.
damn i cant believe its not happening next year i just bought my bike….(!)
You did awesome Steve, wish you well, can’t even imagine how much you put into the UK gravity series
Massive loss to UK Enduro
Understand completely but still absolutely gutted! Really hope that someone else will step in to provide events with a similar degree of challenge for up and coming UK riders!!!
Steve, thanks so much for everything you’ve done for riding in the UK – there are a significant number of us who have been pushed by these very friendly supportive ‘family’ events who have, over the last 5 years, sweated, laughed, and crashed their ways through a variety of fabulous events and pushed their limits throughout. I for one would not be the rider I am if it hadn’t been for taking part in your events – you’ve set the benchmark for Enduro in the UK. Thanks for all the work we never saw you do, for all the nights in the caravan, and mostly for the mad places you took us to. Family does come first, but I hope to see you some time in the future when the balance is better for you. Thanks again
Thank you Steve, I know old Parr does this for the riders so to hear your comments will mean plenty to him and the rest of the crew.
Congratulations on a great series. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the events I’ve ridden and watched.
Good luck to you all.
Thank you Gareth.
Thanks for the last five years of racing, traveled here and there to attend these awesome events been good times…
Thank you Mr Hending.
Nooooooo. Gutted, the last two years have been brilliant for myself and the RAF racers. It will be greatly missed next year. Thank you to all involved in making it all possible. Enjoy a stress reduced 2016, hopefully see you at some races…… 2017??? 😀
Thank you Paul.
Wow – gutted to hear this!
Thank you for all the support you have given to the military teams at the series and thank you from a personal perspective for some amazing racing.
All the best for the future to all those in the UKGE family.
See you on the trails!
Scott
Thank you Scott, was a particular pleasure to have you guys at the races.
It’s been great racing UKGE, met some great people, raced some amazing tracks and managed to develop my racing.
I’d like to say thanks Steve and to your team, it’s a huge task arranging a high class race series and you’ve put Gravity Enduro at the forefront of MTBracing.
Thanks
Setch
